About us
The DragonFly Bar at
Thundering Sky Ranch
Welcome to our little bar, on our little ranch, in the Big Rocky Mountains of South West Colorado. We are at 7,350ft elevation, so bring your oxygen tank if your not from around these parts. We do not sell anything at our bar, it’s more of a friends and family set up and people bring stuff to drink and they bring stuff for the bar so everyone can drink. We do accept donations, signs, bar stuff, sodas, or anything we could use at the bar. Our friends and family are very generous and items like the frozen drink machines were paid for with “tips”. We have billiards and darts at the moment but who knows what will be going on here next time you come over. Check our events page for up and coming Bar Nights and we will see you here…
Dart’s
We love playing Darts, if you haven’t played before it can be a lot of fun. Give it a try while you are here. Darts is played by throwing small, pointed darts at a circular dartboard and is popular both professionally and in pubs/clubs. The game originated in England circa the 1860s, with early darts fashioned from stubs of arrows or crossbow bolts. Purpose-built darts were later made from solid wood wrapped with lead for weight. Metal barrels were patented in 1906, though wooden darts continued in use through the 1950s.
Billiards
We have a pool table. We love to play!! We are not really into all the rules but you can play how you like. Billiards (cue sports) originated in 15th‑century Europe and split into three main modern branches, Carom: Played on a pocketless table with three balls; scoring by caroming the cue ball off the others (notable form: three‑cushion). Pool, Pocket billiards on six‑pocket tables; popular games include eight‑ball and nine‑ball, focused on potting and positional play. Snooker, Larger table with 21 object balls, scoring by potting reds with colours and then clearing colours—heavy emphasis on safety and long positional shots. Key differences, table size, ball size, cue specs, pocket design, and strategic focus. Competitive play is governed by UMB (carom), WPA (pool), and WST/WPBSA (snooker). We have the Pool Table variety, Let’s see how you do…
Fight Nights and other Sporting Events and Concerts
We are just looking for an excuse to open the Bar…
We have had a lot of different Boxing, and MMA fight so far. We are always looking for an event people would like to see. If you have an idea, throw it at us and maybe we can watch it LIVE in the bar together. Just asking is all it takes. Upcoming Bar Nights or Fight Nights will be on our EVENTS page and if you are signed up on our MAILING LIST, you will get an email showing our events.
